TRANSPORT SERVICE: THE FORMS IN DETAIL 

Now let’s see in detail the content of the survey forms:

Company’s data and customer information service

This form must be inserted in each survey questionnaire. It contains the Company’s data:
- Name or Corporate name
- Address
- Town
- Province
- Telephone number
- Fax number
- E-mail
- Website
It also allows to know if there is an information service:

  • for all customers, without distinguishing if they are disabled or not;

  • only for people with disabilities.

 

Customer information service for disabled people

It’s the customer and accompanying service provided in airports and railway stations for people with disabilities.
The information gathered concern:

  • how to contact the service

  • how long before should the request be presented

  • how a disabled customer meets the staff

-     kind of service provided to the disabled person.

 

Transport lines equipped for disabled passengers

The survey form documents the existence of:

  • lines whose vehicles are partially or totally equipped for disabled persons;

  • the official schedule concerning the exact time at which equipped vehicles for disabled people pass or the possibility to know in advance the distribution of equipped vehicles during the day.

Equipped vehicles/coaches/boats

The survey form documents the existence of:

  • kind of means of conveyance owned by the company;
  • Percentage of vehicles/coaches equipped for disabled people on the total amount of the means of transport;
  • characteristics of the vehicle equipped for disabled people (no steps, electric platform, ramps, acoustic/visual devices, etc);
  • peculiar housings for people with disabilities;

  • procedures and devices for getting on/off the vehicle a disabled person.

 

Stops

The survey form gathers information on:

  • the company approach on the problem of bus stop accessibility;
  • the characteristics of platforms/wharfs to get on/off vehicles/coaches.

 

Staff training

The survey form gathers information on how the staff is trained, and particularly:

  • The staff dedicated to the information/assistance service of people with disabilities
  • The staff employed on driving vehicles

 

Reductions

The survey form gathers information on reductions applied by companies to persons with disabilities using public transport in the Lombardy Region.
