ACCESSIBILITY OF INFRASTRUCTURES:DETAILED FORMS
Now let’s see in detail the content of these survey forms.
They provide concise information on the infrastructure considered, with essential information and data allowing the user to evaluate the degree of accessibility of the infrastructure according to his/her needs.
This form must be filled for each one of the following infrastructures:
- Airports
- Railway stations
- Cableway stations
- Ticket offices of lake navigation companies
This form provides information on:
- Presence and form of transports towards the structure
- Telephone numbers and website of the company operating such transports
This form provides information on:
- position of the building with regard to the town
- presence of direction signs and orientation tools inside the building.
This form provides information on:
- presence of car parks near the station
- type of parking

- Vertical connection: Lift
- Vertical connection: Stairlift
- Vertical connection: Ramp
- Vertical connection: Staircase
- Vertical connection: Elevator
- Vertical connection: Mobile stair climber
Forms concerning vertical connections contain information on:
- devices connecting the different floors of a building;
- how to use such devices;
- measures of the device;
- maintenance works for mechanic devices (lift, stairlift, elevator, mobile stair climber).
Each survey form on vertical connections will be assigned a progressive code number.
The importance of such code lies in the fact that, in other forms of the questionnaire, when analysing certain path there might be a reference to a vertical connection and the relative code.
Such devices (lift, stairlift etc.) can be identified by their code number, allowing to find the survey form containing all data in detail.
This form is useful when there are vertical connections such as:
- lift
- stairlift
- elevator
- mobile stair climber
The form contains information on the following points:
- if maintenance works, concerning the good functioning of such devices, are made regularly;
- if a disabled passenger can know in advance with which vertical connection device is a station equipped.
The form contains information on:
- kind of bathroom / toilet;
- position of the bathroom/toilet in the building;
- data on its accessibility.
The form contains information on:
- presence of emergency exits and where they take;
- their level of accessibility;
- existence of emergency procedures to evacuate people in wheelchair.
Because of the peculiarity of this form of transport and of the high number of stations, we have created a special form to survey information on accessibility of underground stations and of the different lines.
The form contains information on:
- Total number of the underground stations
- Number of accessible stations equipped with stairlift, lift or both lift and stairlift
- Number of stations equipped with acoustic signal when approaching a stop
- Number of stations equipped with tactile maps or guides
