 Outline law for the assistance, social integration and rights of persons with disabilities, art. 1

1. Scope. - 1. The Republic:

a)  grants full respect of human dignity and rights of freedom and independence of persons with disabilities thus promoting his/her full integration in the family, at school, in the world of work and in society;

b) prevents and eliminate invalidating conditions stopping the development of the human person, the possibility of reaching his/her maximum independence and the participation of a disabled person to the life of the community and the realization of civil, political and property rights;

c) pursues the functional and social recovery of people affected by physical, mental, sensorial disabilities and assures services and medical assistance for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of disabilities and the juridical and economic defence of a disabled person;

d) plans interventions in order to overcome casting out and social exclusion of a person with disabilities.
